Kaohsiung – Novermber 2, 2022

Kaohsiung Exhibition Center is the first to obtain the GBAC STAR™ Accreditation, adopting the most stringent cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention measures to provide a venue environment that meets international hygiene and safety standards. The Kaohsiung Exhibition Center was GBAC STAR™-accredited in October 2022, becoming the first venue in Taiwan to obtain the certification, creating a venue environment with international hygiene standards for the post-pandemic era and setting a benchmark for the industry. The GBAC STAR™ Accreditation is a program of the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA. To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center has demonstrated compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures. These elements are globally recognized indicators for venue epidemic prevention, including the Kyoto International Conference Center in Japan, the Orange County Convention Center in Florida, USA, and the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation

The Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, sets strict standards for its GBAC STAR™ Accreditation Program. It relies on a 20-element quality management program, which encourages a complete system to prevent and respond to the outbreak of infectious diseases, such as compliance with laws and regulations, professionally trained cleaning staff, and comprehensive emergency response measures. These indicators are currently recognized as venues’ global epidemic prevention certification indicators.
